Our school horses were surprised to see a bus load of kids from Shady Lane Elementary arrive for an afternoon field trip at Blue Spring Farm.  The kids enjoyed grooming, riding and feeding the horses… as well as observing our farrier (Kelley House) as he trimmed our broodmare’s hooves.  Kelley also had neat computer programs and real life hoof displays to show the kids what the inside of the hoof looks like.

Several daycare facilities also visited Blue Spring Farm to introduce the kids to the world of horses.

Kathy Mikelby asked Blue Spring Farm to host a Tuesday’s Child Program in September, 2010.  Our school horse “Giddeon” was the co-star of the program. Video link to show
