Ingrid Knippelmeyer is the trainer and owner of Blue
Spring Farm. At eight years old she began weekly hunt
seat riding lessons at Nimrod Farm in Oconomowoc, WI.
Soon she was allowed to ride the farm’s sale horses for
extra riding. She got her first horse when she was 12
years old and showed at local B rated shows and A rated
shows in WI, IL, MI, MN, IN and IA. With two different
horses she successfully showed throughout her junior
years.
In
1989, she started breeding her own mares and breaking
the young stock for resale. She gradually purchased
more mares for breeding and had 4-5 foals per year. In
1998 a farm in Menomonee Falls, WI became available for
lease and is now the current home of Blue Spring Farm.
That allowed her more room for mares and foals and an
indoor arena for breaking them.
With
many people expressing interest in riding lessons,
Ingrid gradually started buying school horses. She now
has 7 school horses that help with 65-70 lessons per
week. During the summer months she takes 6-8 riders to
the local B rated shows in Wisconsin and Illinois.
Ingrid loves working with students of all ages and
abilities, helping them improve their riding skills and
knowledge of the horse, while providing an environment
that is relaxing and fun.
